Introduction to Recommendations

These pages contain lists of books I recommend for middle schoolers. They are arranged mostly by genre although some titles can be considered to fall under several different genres in which case I've listed them more than once or chosen the genre that fits best.

In addition, I've created pages for specific grade ranges and genders. These are general guidelines - every child is unique so books on the 7th & 8th grade girls list may be appropriate for a 6th grade girl. The "boy" lists have male characters and deal with issues more associated with boys while the "girl" lists have female characters and deal more with themes of friendships, cliques, romance and the like. Certainly boys might enjoy reading books listed on girl lists and vice versa!

Consider these lists to be works in progress as new titles are published daily! Check back often!

If you would like to suggest a title not on any of these lists please send me an email and I'll consider it.

Enjoy!
